Over 1500 nautical terms are explained in this accessible and down to earth glossary aimed at the layman. Covering all areas of boating (sail and power, official bodies, regulations, etc), it uses practical examples to bring the meanings alive, and helpful line drawings to explain technical points. It includes definitions of different materials and techniques used in boat construction and repair, as well as names, events and much much more. Boatwords was originally compiled by the much loved former editor of Practical BoatOwner magazine, Denny Desoutter, and has now been updated and expanded into the Adlard Coles Book of Boatwords by his successors at the magazine.
