The Aeneid by Virgil
Virgil's The Aeneid is an epic-style poem originally written in Latin. The Aeneid was written between 29 BC and 19 BC by subject of the Roman Republic, Virgil. This story follows the legendary tale of the brave Trojan warrior, Aeneas who became an ancestor of all of Rome when he founded a great city from the Ashes of Troy. How will Aeneas fare the storms of a treacherous sea and how does one man found one of the greatest cities ever built? Follow Aeneas on his adventures on the Mediterranean, on his way to riches and infamy.Slavitt has written more than fifty volumes as a poet, writer, critic, and journalist.
