This book presents a portrait of the Albans, a seafaring tribe who originated in the country now known as Scotland. Battered by repeated Celtic, Norse and Roman invasions, the Albans fled west, first to Iceland, then to Greenland and finally across the Atlantic to Canada.Farley Mowat (1921-2014), a well-known Canadian author, wrote 45 books, encompassing fiction, history, and environmental works. Some of his books have been adapted into films, notably Never Cry Wolf. Mowat was a Governor General's Prize for Literature winner, an Order of Canada laureate, and a member of the Canadian Walk of Fame.
