The Alchemist's Handbook is a major contribution to the study of alchemy. Such a study, Dr. Regardie tells us, is worth its weight in gold.Frater Albertus Spagyricus (Dr Albert Richard Riedel) was the founder of the Paracelsus Research Society in Salt Lake City, which eventually became the Paracelsus College. He lived from 1911 until 1984. Frater Albertus devised a way of teaching alchemical principles utilizing the spagyric approach of separation and cohobation, based on the Paracelsian concept of three fundamentals, Body, Soul, and Spirit. Students were able to discover aspects of the vegetable, mineral, and animal kingdoms in an intelligible and accessible way because to the unique gradated courses. Prior to this, systematic education was only available to those who were members of a fraternity or secret organization. The college discontinued operations in the United States after his death in 1984, but continued the legacy in Australia.
In the mid-to-late twentieth century, Frater Albertus had a significant impact on how Alchemy, particularly the Spagyric technique, was propagated and understood. His writings have been translated into a wide range of languages.
