Minister Faust has worked in the community for many years as a community activist, writer, journalist, broadcaster, public speaker, and martial artist in various disciplines. Despite choosing to become a comic book writer and artist when he was ten, he secretly changed his goal to become a science fiction novelist after reading Frank Herbert's Dune's glossary. He'd intended to become an ecologist to match Herbert's ecological knowledge, but before taking his first university session, he shifted his entire enrollment to English Literature, deciding that learning to write was more relevant to a writer's vocation, and that going to interminable lab classes at 7 a.m. for four years would be hell on earth. He and other youngsters marched on a Nazi skinhead gang house in 1990 as part of E-Town's anti-fascist activity, which was the epicenter of a series of violent assaults at the time. When confronted with gun-wielding skinheads, Minister Faust used nothing but his words to keep them at bay.
As a result, he established a speaking career that has carried him across Canada and in front of tens of thousands of people. From 1989 to 2012, he was the host of Africentric Radio (previously The Terrordome), during which he interviewed luminaries such as Tariq Ali, Molefi Kete Asante, Martin Bernal, Noam Chomsky, Chuck D., Austin Clarke, Angela Davis, Karl Evanzz, Tom Fontana, Glen Ford, Nalo Hopkinson, Reginald Hudlin, Ice-T, Janine Jackson, Michael Parenti, Ishm He's gone as far as the 1995 Million Man March in Washington, DC, and the Ain-al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon to gather stories and hear directly from people living and making history as a radio and print journalist. Minister Faust is the author of the critically acclaimed The Coyote Kings, Book One: Space-Age Bachelor Pad, The Alchemists of Kush, and the Kindred Award-winning Shrinking the Heroes. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed The Coyote Kings, Book Two: Space-Age Bachelor Pad, The Alchemists of Kush, and the Kindred Award-winning Shrinking the Heroes.
War & Mir, Volume I: Ascension is his most recent book. Minister Faust calls his subgenre of writing Imhotep-Hop, an Africentric literature that pulls from a variety of old African civilisations, investigates current realities, and imagines a future in which people fight not only for justice, but also for the stars.
