Richard Wilford is the collections manager for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew's Hardy Display section, where he is in charge of alpines, bulbs, and hardy herbaceous perennials. He is a member of the editorial board of Curtis' Botanical Magazine, the world's oldest plant publication, and has contributed to Kew magazine on a regular basis. Alpines: From Mountain to Garden and Tulips: Species and Hybrids for the Gardener are two of his other publications.
