Jennings Wagoner is emeritus Professor of the History of Education at the U. of Virginia. A past president of the History of Education Society and vice president of Division F (History and Historiography) of the American Educational Research Association, he was a recipient of the Outstanding Professor Award from Virginia’s Curry School of Education. Wayne Urban is Professor of Education at the U. of Alabama. A former president of the History of Education Society and of the American Educational Studies Association, he is currently the secretary of the International Standing Conference for the History of Education.
