American Pageant Vol1 by Kennedy
Recommended for readers who enjoy LOTS of imagination and are looking for something unpredictable and extremely different. Over forty stories range from bizarre romance (a man who loves utensils until he comes across a beautiful but omnious shovel that takes him to his grave) to even quirkier storylines and characters; such as the adorable Starwater who travels through space inside rockets made of her own fingers to find her father the most special birthday present . . . square circles There's also a hilarious, offbeat horror story about a serial killer who isn't very good at his craft. A fantasy story about a writer who clobbers glowing blue heads that grow in her garden of knowledge. Another story takes the fall of Lucifer and gives it a completely new spin--a jealous Monday rebels against the Calander of Time, taking a third of the days with him. Other stories include: a man who climbs the sky to eat rainbows; a woman who's only wish is to live in a giant fish bowl; a theater of blood where punks mutilate each other in sake of getting to watch a movie. And what anthology of strangeness wouldn't be complete without a story about an illuminated city suspended by kites? The entire book overflows with dark humor and an interesting twist on romance, death, and all things funny no one else thinks about. Found myself laughing and crying at the same time. Definately a unique book. - Peter Kliess, The Wayfarer's Publication
