Chris Rainier is a National Geographic explorer and documentary photographer who is known for documenting endangered cultures and traditional languages all around the world. In London, he is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He's written books about traditional cultures all across the world, from New Guinea's Stone Age tribes to the ancient practice of tattoo body marking. Rainier is the founder and director of the Cultural Sanctuaries Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to legally protecting biodiversity and cultural heritage around the world. Rainier has photographed in all seven continents, with a focus on the world's last natural places and traditional cultures. Rainier resides in the city of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
