
Lorena Gale was an award-winning actress, director, and playwright who was born in Montreal. Angélique, her debut play, had its American premiere at the Detroit Repertory Theatre and was performed Off Broadway at Manhattan Class Company Theatre in New York, where it received eight Audelco Award nominations. Normal Jean in The Colourful Museum and Hecuba in Age of Iron at the Firehall Theatre, for which she got both a Jesse Richardson Nomination and Award, are two of her most memorable stage performances. Je me souviens, published by Talonbooks in 2001, was her first novel. In 2000, Je me souviens received three Jessie Richardson nominations: Best Actress, Best Directing, and Best Production. Lorena died in the year 2009.
