Angels Rush in by Jilly Cooper

Over the past 21 years Jilly Cooper has written a selection of best-selling books, mixing outrageous anecdotes from the lives of her family and friends with shrewd and wicked social satire and criticism. Men and Super Men was followed by Women and Super Women and then by the devastatingly outspoken bombshell, Class; the poignantly evocative The Common Years; the indispensable How to Survive Christmas and the essential handbook for Nouveau-Rustics, Turn Right at the Spotted Dog. All these and more provide the material for Angels Rush In, a rich and sparkling selection made and introduced by the author herself.
Jilly Cooper comes from Yorkshire although she was born in Essex and educated in Godolphin School in Sailsbury. She originally worked as a journalist on provincial newspapers before lapsing and going into publishing. She graduated back to journalism through the pages of the Sunday Times and for thirteen and a half years her column was one of the most widely read features in the paper. During 1982 she moved to Gloucestershire and began writing a column for the Mail on Sunday. Recently she has devoted her time to writing books. Jilly Cooper is the author of many non-fiction books, including Class and The Common Years, the best selling novels, Riders and Rivals, a book of short stories and two anthologies. She has published, in addition, several children's books. She makes frequent appearances on television - including What's My Line? - and has done numerous radio broadcasts.
