Animal Defenses by Christina Wildson
This book presents the wide variety of physical and behavioural adaptations used by animals to defend themselves against predators. From insects that look like leaves, to fish that fly and toads with poisonous skins, the methods of defence seem limitless, with new ones continuing to be discovered.
Christina Wilsdon has written regularly for 3-2-1 Contact, National Geographic World, Creative Classroom, Reader’s Digest Young Families, and the Audubon Society. In 1997, she received an EdPress Distinguished Achievement Award for Excellence in Educational Journalism for an article about a zoo’s composting program.
