BK Loren has worked as a naturalist, an assistant chef, a ranch hand, a furniture maker, a UPS driver, and a college professor, among other occupations. She studied writing at the Iowa Writer's Workshop and now teaches at Chatham University's low-residency program, the Iowa Summer Writing Festival, and other locations across North America. She is the author of Stolen, a novel that won the Mary Roberts-Rinehart National Fellowship. Three times she has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Loren lives in Colorado with her partner, two dogs, and two cats.
