It names 67 places across 87 dated entries. The diary opens at Bordon Hants on 25 August 1915. 1915 is spent at Erquinghem and Bordon Hants. 1916 is the most travelled year, 62 places against 16 in the next busiest, and is spent at R.E. Camp On Road, R.E. Camp on Ouderdom Vlamertinghe Road, Erquinghem, Ouderdom-Vlamertinghe and Ypres. 1917 at Dickebusch, Vlamertinghe, Larch Wood Tunnels, La Clytte and Berthen. It closes at Boeshepe on 31 October 1917. Erquinghem is where it spent longest, 132 days across five separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 41. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Shelter Wood, Doudou Farm, Larch Wood Tunnels, Becourt Wood, Ridge Wood, Belgian Chateau and Dickebusch & Spoil Bank. In 1917 it is also recorded at Ypres, Hill 60, Dickebusch & Spoil Bank, Zutove, Lumbres and Ridge Wood.
