This book focuses on multiculturalism, racism and the interests of nonhuman animals. Each are, in their own right, rapidly growing and controversial fields of enquiry, but how do multiculturalism and racism intersect with the debate concerning animals and their interests? Mitchell, Les: - Les Mitchell is a Hunterstoun Fellow of the University of Fort Hare, a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics and a member of Institute for Critical Animal Studies (Africa). With a PhD from Rhodes University, his writing appears in a range of academic journals as well as in chapters in various books relating to animals and was co-editor of Animals, Race and Multiculturalism - Contemporary Moral and Political Debates (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018). His research interests include nonhuman animals, discourses, power, critical realism, ethics, genocide, moral disengagement and open education. He is an Alternatives to Violence facilitator as well as a wandering hiker.
