Welsh, Thomas: - Thomas G. Welsh, PhD, is an independent scholar and professional writer and editor living in Youngstown, Ohio. He is a member of the advisory board of Steel Valley Voices, a web-based project to promote awareness of the community's diversity. He is the author of Closing Chapters: Urban Change, Religious Reform, and the Decline of Youngstown's Catholic Elementary Schools (Lexington Books, 2011) and the co-author of Strouss': Youngstown's Dependable Store (The History Press, 2012). Gordon F. Morgan Jr. grew up in Campbell, Ohio. His articles have appeared in Youngstown-based news publications, including the Metro Monthly and the Vindicator. He also writes for and edits Drum and Bugle Call, the newsletter of the Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table, where he serves as program director.
