Annabel's Eyes by John Macleod
A crime victim builds a new life of safety-until she disappears-in this gripping mystery about the hidden dangers of the art world where not everything is a masterpiece.
After years of falling prey to human trafficking, Ivy Villaneuva must try to escape the past. She has seemingly done so by becoming a beloved artist and member of Woodstock, Virginia. When she goes missing and her living room is found covered in blood, newly elected sheriff Angelo Jones takes the case.
But the more clues he uncovers, the less convinced Angelo is that seemingly unrelated events should be overlooked in his hunt for justice. Spanning across the nation, different people face dark secrets with brutal consequences...but how many of them lead back to Ivy's whereabouts?
Not knowing who can be trusted means that more than one life is in jeopardy. And with the lies so beautifully executed, readers won't know what to believe until the very end.
