Niamh Sharkey is an illustrator/author and the Irish children's Laureate. She was the winner of the 1999 Bisto Award for the best Irish illustrator and the prestigious Books for Children Mother Goose Award for best new illustrator. On the Road with Mavis and Marge was published in 2010 and won the DAA Irish Book Award. I'm a Happy Hugglewug, published in 2006, is being developed into a CG animated series for pre-schoolers by Brown Bag Films and premiered on Disney Junior in Autumn 2012, airing in over 150 countries worldwide.
