The Archdruid Report by John Michael Greer
During its eleven-year run, The Archdruid Report was one of the most controversial and widely cited blogs on the future of industrial society. This first volume of the collected essays from The Archdruid Report covers the years 2006 and 2007. In these essays, peak oil-the peaking of world conventional petroleum production, and the beginning of its inexorable decline thereafter-becomes a lens through which to study the predicament of our time, and begin preparing for the arrival of the Long Descent.John Michael Greer, a historian of ideas and one of the most influential authors examining the future of industrial civilization, is the author of the widely referenced weekly blog The Archdruid Report and the author of over thirty books on ecology, history, and natural spirituality. His participation in environmental issues stretches back to the early 1980s, when he was a leader in the Appropriate Technology movement and earned the Master Conserver designation. He's written many books, including The Long Descent, The Ecotechnic Future, The Wealth of Nature, and After Progress. With his wife Sara, he lives in Cumberland, MD, an ancient mill town in the Appalachian Mountains.
