The Archers in Fact and Fiction by Cara Courage

If you have ever wondered about the ethical implications of Dr Richard Locke's affair with Shula Hebden Lloyd, or whether the ergonomic design of tractor seats could have prevented Tony Archer from getting a bad back, then this book is for you. Leading academics from across the United Kingdom use storylines from BBC Radio 4's The Archers to examine life in rural Borsetshire, bringing their academic research to new audiences. Is Lynda Snell a middleclass warrior? Can Rob Titchener be compared to Iago? The irreverent but thought-provoking contributions
will have you laughing and thinking.

Peter Matthews is a well-known track and field expert around the world. He has worked as an athletics broadcaster on television and radio for more than 35 years, primarily for BBC Radio from 1975 to 1985, ITV from 1985 to 1997, and the IAAF since 1991. For the last 40 years, he has covered nearly all of the big meetings in the United Kingdom and around the world. Since 1968, he has been a major public address announcer, serving as Media Information Manager for Track and Field Athletics during the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and working for the Sydney Organizing Committee at his seventh Olympics in 2000.
