Arctic Dinosaurs of Alaska by Bonnye Matthews

Dinosaurs left footprints in the Arctic snow.

A novel for middle-grade readers

This story follows Pakky, a young pachyrhinosaurus living in what is now called the North Slope of Alaska. In her first year, she discovers the wonders of the yearly cycle of life and migration. She experiences her first sunless winter and learns about ice and snow, hunger and danger. She learns that even though the time of light gives way to the time of dark, light always comes back again.

Separating fact from fiction

Matthews, Bonnye: - Bonnye Matthews was born in Richmond, Virginia. She taught English and has written in every job she's had whether in academia, business, industry, volunteer work, or government. She became interested in the peopling of the Americas when taking a history class. That would have been the end of it had not the professor cautioned her that her rejection of the tradition of the land bridge concept and especially the Clovis people as the first Americans and their slaughter of the megafauna was going against significant archaeology and history authorities. He was right. Bonnye spent years researching. As a result of that research the Winds of Change Series was born. Bonnye enjoys living in the beautiful Matanuska-Susitna Valley in Alaska.
