Are We Nearly There Yet? by Sheila Hayman

Helen, Colum and Baby Des - now four years old - make the mistake of thinking a holiday will relax them and put some spark back into their lives. But Colum hates flying, which means they have to drive to Italy. Helen, determined to make the most of the drive, imagines a route through France's most attractive chateaux and most atmospheric villages - driving slowly on back roads and stopping for lunch in little bistros. Colum wants to get there as fast as he can and has already got his tolls ready for the autoroutes. And Des just wants chips, wherever they come from. It's a recipe for disaster...
