Contemporary art, feminist art history and criticism, modern art and architecture, as well as the theory and foundations of art and design, are among her areas of expertise.
UNDERSTANDING ART and FOUNDATIONS OF ART AND DESIGN, both published by Cengage Learning, are written by Dr. Fichner-Rathus. She lives in New York and teaches study-abroad programs in Paris, Rome, Spain, and Cuba.
