Joy McKenzie received her BFA in photography from the Kansas City Art Institute, did graduate work in Studio Arts at Memphis College of Art and received her MFA in photography from Southern Illinois University. She is currently a professor at Watkins College of Art&Design and is author of Exploring Basic Black & White Photography from Delmar, Cengage Learning. Daniel V. Overturf received his BA in Photography in 1980 and MFA in Printmaking in 1983 from Southern Illinois University. He lived, taught, and worked in Nevada, New Mexico, Alberta, and Kansas before returning to his alma mater to teach photography in 1990. Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Cinema and Photography at SIU, he is also President of the Photo Imaging Education Association and co-author of A River Through Illinois.
