PHYLLIDA SHAW was left Morris Meredith Williams’s sketchbooks and letters by his second wife, her great aunt. She has worked as a researcher and writer in the cultural sector for thirty years. As a freelance journalist she has written for Museums Journal, Classical Music, The Royal Academy Magazine and the Journal of the Scottish Society for Art History, among others. She has also contributed to many arts publications. The book is designed by graphic designer David Grey, who is closely involved with the award-winning Northumbria World War One Commemoration Project (www.northumbriaworldwarone.co.uk).
