Artists in Love by Veronica Kavass
In Artists in Love, curator and writer Veronica Kavass delves into the passionate and creative underpinnings of the art world’s most provocative relationships. From Kahlo & Rivera to Rauschenberg & Johns, the Delaunays and the Bechers, Kavass’ intimate and daring text provides a generous glimpse into thirty of the inspiring and sometimes tempestuous romances between celebrated artists throughout the 20th and the 21st centuries. Featuring 140 works of art of which 100 are in full color, including photographs of the couples by photographers such as Irving Penn, Alfred Stieglitz & Hans Namuth.
Veronica Kavass's professional experience in the art world ranges from curating exhibitions in numerous galleries in London and New York; to working internationally with the Tate Modern and 52nd Venice Bienniale; to running an artist's residency in the Hudson River Valley, NY; to creating libraries for art advisors and collectors; to writing about artists and art happenings throughout the world, and reviewing major exhibitions for various publications. She holds a master's in curatorial practice and critical writing. Her first book, The Last Good War: The Faces and Voices of WWII, was a powerful chronicle of American veterans' experiences during the war, and was a recipient of ForeWord Review's Non-Fiction Book of the Year Award.
