Pierre Rabhi was born in the Algerian oasis of Kenadsa and raised in France. He works as an agroecology consultant for a number of international institutions, including the World Bank, and is an expert on reversing desertification. As in the Heart, So in the Ground is the first of his books to be published in English. He lives and farms in France's Ardeche region.
