David Hanrahan is a headteacher and lecturer in the philosophy of education at the University of Ireland, Galway. His previous book for Sutton, Colonel Blood: The Man Who Stole the Crown Jewels, 2003, was described in BBC History Magazine as a 'thundering book story'. He lives in Co. Clare, Ireland.
