Assembly Automation by Frank J Riley
Success in automatic assembly design and operation comes from an awareness and sensitivity to a multitude of small design details, and only Frank Riley could pack so much knowledge and experience into a practical and authoritative guide to the selection and application of automatic assembly machinery. This book provides a thorough overview of management, engineering, and machine operator considerations necessary to ensure successful specification, procurement, design, manufacture, installation, and sustained productivity of new assembly systems. Places more emphasis on how corporations can employ an integrated systems approach to automatic assembly to respond to product quality, productivity, global manufacturing competitiveness, and increasingly aggressive consumerism. Includes a vast amount of practical information about all aspects of automated assembly. Thoroughly discusses several unusual and valuable topics, including a look into the 21st Century and the emerging influence of simultaneous engineering in manufacturing. My life has been a series of adventures. I started working on river boats in Liverpool when I was fifteen years old. I joined the merchant navy at the age of sixteen and served on nine ships. I started hitchhiking through Scandinavia and continental Europe when I was eighteen years old. I hitchhiked twice through Europe and the Middle East when I was twenty, working on schooners in the Mediterranean.
I ran out of money in Karachi on my first effort through travel to Australia, so I accepted a work as a third cook on a Norwegian freighter that brought me to India, Ethiopia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the United States, and Antwerp, Belgium. During my second effort to travel to Australia (to meet my brother), I ran out of money in Teheran, Iran, and had to flee the country with the help of my brother's money. Check out 'The Life of Riley' for more information on this and all of my adventures: http: //www.amazon.com/dp/B004J4W08I for the Kindle edition; and https: //www.createspace.com/3556150 for the paperback edition. I'm a brown belt in judo and have dabbled in boxing and karate. I was a professional ballroom and Latin American dancer for 22 years before becoming a judge in both American and international competitions.
I've been writing for over forty years and have written a number of novels and screenplays, as well as lately partnering with Amazon.com to market my works. Three novels, 'Bell's Lot,' a detective drama set in Sydney, 'The Last Dance,' a romantic drama set in the cauldron of the dance world, and my most recent work, 'The Dying Sea,' about Eco-terrorism gone wrong, are available for sale. 'The Life of Riley, a tongue-in-cheek autobiography' is the fourth title; 'The Reluctant Tourist' is the fifth; 'The Reluctant Tourist - Part Two' is the sixth; and 'The Reluctant Tourist - Part Three' is the seventh and final title in the series. 'The Magician,' a pilot for a children's television series, was written and directed by me.
It served as a medium for demonstrating the problems that youngsters face as they mature. Bullying was a theme in the pilot. My inspiration for writing comes from life. I use my past experiences, but I also rely largely on my observations of individuals and their motivations.
I don't believe that people's personalities change with time - the so-called 'arc' in movie lingo - and it is this belief in humanity's fundamental fault that provides me with a lot of material for my works.
