Karen Foster is a splinter in the conventional wisdom's shoe, shedding light on the inconsistencies between what we say we should do, what we think we should do, and what we really do. It all began when she was 18 years old and decided to forego the standard college experience in favor of a trip to San Francisco, a hotspot of nonconformity. Fortunately, she was too young to realize it wouldn't have worked out, so she went ahead and earned a Clinical Psychology degree from San Francisco State University on her own time. Karen recognized that there was no profit worth the irritation of productive job after years of working in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Karen moved north to Portland during the dot-com boom, where she launched her own business as a speaker and coach. Karen now works as a professional development trainer in the United States, where she meets all kinds of intriguing people who are currently shocked by her refusal to breed (or do a lot of other things that so-called normal people do.) She still resides in Portland.
