
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder by Gd Kewley
ADHD is a common, complex and yet often misunderstood condition, affecting children, adolescents and adults. It causes a wide range of difficulties. In this text, the author gives an overview of the condition taking account of its biological as well as environmental elements.
Dr Kewley is a Consultant Paediatrician, who relocated to Britain from Australia in 1990, where he had been in practice for 16 years as a General Paediatrician. He has considerable experience of managing ADHD and related problems in both countries.In 1993, he established the Learning Assessment Centre out of concern at the lack of availability of adequate assessment and management services for people who may have ADHD and related problems. The Centre is an independent NHS provider, also able to see patients privately, providing a comprehensive and experienced multi-professional assessment and management service. It receives referrals from all over the UK and abroad.Dr Kewley is invited to lecture on ADHD nationally and internationally. He is Part Icularly interested in the development of appropriate service provision and interdisciplinary liaison in ADHD management and is actively involved in encouraging professional awareness of the facts and reality of ADHD.
