WENDY LAW-YONE was born in Mandalay, Burma (now Myanmar), and grew up in Rangoon, where her father was founder and publisher of the leading English-language newspaper, The Nation. A US citizen, she lives in London and the south of France. Her novel The Road to Wanting was longlisted for the Orange Prize in 2011. Her two most recent books are Golden Parasol: A Daughter’s Memoir of Burma (2014) and Dürrenmatt and Me: A Writer’s Passage from Burma to Berne (2021).
