As a teenager in the 1970s, Fred Mattson began working on automobile interiors by hand sewing inserts into his own 1969 Oldsmobile and working on numerous friends' cars in his neighborhood. Fred's vehicle trimming career expanded quickly after he opened a full-time upholstery business in 1980, stitching car interiors for many famous upholstery shops and restoration specialists in the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota.
