Christopher Durang is the author of A History of the American Cinema, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You, Beyond Therapy, Baby with the Bathwater, The Marriage of Bette and Boo (Obie Award and Dramatists Guild Hull Warriner Award), Laughing Wild, Betty's Summer Vacation (Obie Award), Miss Witherspoon (Pulitzer Prize finalist), and Laughing Wild, Betty's Summer Vacation (Obie Award). Durang is the cochair of the Julliard School's drama division's playwrights program, alongside Marsha Norman. Durang was awarded the Harvard Arts Medal, the Madge Evans and Sidney Kingsley Award, and the New York Innovative Theatre Awards' first Luminary Award.
