Tim graduated in Drama from the University of Bristol, in 1967. He now holds the position of Special Lecturer in the Department of Drama. He has played leading roles with both the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Royal National Theatre. Tim made his Broadway debut in 1974 as Dr Watson in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production 'Sherlock Holmes'. He is well known for his appearances on television which include The Chief, The Vice and North and South . His award-winning performance as Ronald Merrick in The Jewel in the Crown brought him international recognition. Tim is a regular broadcaster, with many audiobooks to his credit.
