Balthus by Nicholas Fox Weber
Balthus has been viciously attacked for producing facist paintings which exploit children in the most invasive way, yet he has also come to be recognised as an extremely important artist who has had an enormous influence on modern painters. This is his biography.
Nicholas Fox Weber is a graduate of Yale and Columbia Universities. He is the author of several books (including The Art of Babar) and the Director of the Albers Foundation. He writes frequently for the New Yorker.
