Doug Stowe has been a professional carpenter for over three decades and is known for his artistic boxes made of natural materials and North American hardwoods. Taunton's Comprehensive Illustrated Guide to Box Making and Basic Box Making are among his many publications. He's also starred in three full-length DVD movies. Stowe teaches woodworking at woodworking schools and organizations across the United States, as well as in his birthplace of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. For his contributions to his profession of carpentry, he was named an Arkansas Living Treasure by the Arkansas Arts Council in 2009.
