Steve Grenard is a passionate herpetologist with over forty years of experience with amphibians and reptiles. In 1958, he published a paper on the Marsupial Frog's reproduction. He wrote a provocative and much contested review in Natural History Magazine in the summer of 2000 about the likelihood of American rattlesnake venoms gaining new qualities. His books include Your Happy Healthy Pet: Bearded Dragon, An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet: The Lizard, and Amphibians: Its Care and Maintenance, all published by Howell Book House. He is the author of several scientific medical and herpetological works, including Medical Herpetology and Handbook of Alligators and Crocodiles, as well as the best-selling text review of respiratory therapy, Introduction to Respiratory Care. Steve is the clinical coordinator of the Center of Sleep Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. He is a board-certified respiratory therapist and polysomnographer.
