A Beautiful, Terrible Thing by Jen Waite

Jen Waite was faced with so many questions when she began to realize that her loving husband fits the textbook definition of a psychopath. In a raw, first-person account, Waite recounts each heartbreaking discovery, every life-destroying lie, and reveals what happens once the dust finally settles on her demolished marriage. With a dual-timeline narrative structure, we see Waite's romance bud, bloom and wither simultaneously, making the heartbreak and disbelief even more affecting.

Jen Waite grew up on Maine's coast. She moved to New York City for ten years after graduating from Vassar College, where she worked in finance before pursuing acting and modeling. In 2015, she returned to Maine after the birth of her daughter, Vivienne. She is the author of A Beautiful, Horrible Thing, an international bestseller about her discovery that her ex-husband was living a second life. Jen has worked with many women (and a few men) who have suffered similar betrayals since the memoir's release. Her second novel is now in the works.
