Wishes, Kisses, and Pigs (a Child magazine Best Book of 2001), Eliza's Puppy, and Listening for Leroy (a Noteworthy Social Studies Trade Book for Young Children) are among Betsy Hearne's children's books. She is presently a professor of literature and storytelling at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she was formerly the editor of the Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books. Hearne resides in Urbana, Illinois, with her family. Ponder Goembel has illustrated eight books, including Old Cricket, a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year, and Sailor Moo, both by Lisa Wheeler; A Basket Full of White Eggs, by Brian Swann; and Megan McDonald's The Night Iguana Leaving Home.
