The Bedside "Guardian" 2008 by Martin Kettle

This title is beautifully repackaged and renamed "The Bedside Guardian" last year to capitalise on the title's fifty year history in this format. It features a unique and collectable design from David Eldridge (River Cafe cookbook). From its inception in 1951, "The Bedside Guardian" was every "Guardian" reader's must-have Christmas purchase. It was relaunched in paperback as the "Guardian Year" in 1994. Now the 'Guardian' has brought back the old, and much missed, hardback format and title. The content remains the same - the very best news stories, features and photographs to have appeared in the "Guardian" from the previous year.
Martin Kettle was appointed an assistant editor of the Guardian in 1994. He is co-author of 'Policing the Police' and 'Uprising' and was the editor of the 'Guardian Guide to the New Europe' and the 'Guardian Guide to the European Single Currency'.
