Before His Time by Ben Green

On Christmas night, 1951, a bomb exploded in Mims, Florida, under the home of civil rights activist and educator Harry T. Moore. Harry and his wife Harriette both died from injuries sustained in the blast, making them the first martyrs of the contemporary civil rights movement. They were killed twelve years before Medgar Evers, fourteen years before Malcolm X, and seventeen years before Martin Luther King, Jr. The sound of the bomb could be heard three miles away in the neighboring town of Titusville, but what resonates today is the memory of the important civil rights work accomplished by Moore. This new edition of Ben Green's comprehensive biography of Harry T. Moore includes updated material about the investigations into the bombing, and additional photographs commemorating Moore's legacy.
Green, Ben: - Ben Green is a Child Practitioner (BSc/ JNC), Family Support Worker, Fitness Professional, Well-being coach, the Founder of Activ8 Fitness Camp, National Diversity Award Winner 2017, European Diversity Award Shortlist Nominee 2017 and Author. Ben's journey began at the age of 16 volunteering at his local youth club In Rainham Essex, here is where he recognised his talents and spurred his passion in inspiring and supporting the younger generation. Ben has volunteered abroad in a variety of roles with International Organisations, that support and develop the younger generation. On returning to the UK at just 20, he then spent the next 5 years focusing on becoming an expert in his field, specialising in the personal and social development of children, especially in the areas of fitness, mental health and wellbeing. In April 2014, Ben founded Activ8 Fitness Camp, with the aim to support parents with children with challenging behaviours. Ben is passionate about encouraging children outdoors, here he hosts fitness classes for children, families and adults. Ben also delivers therapeutic well-being intervention in educational settings, working closely with a diverse group of children; which include nurseries, mainstream and special needs schools. The support does not stop there, Ben has a close relationship with parents and carers to ensure they are supported with any challenging behaviours at home, or specific matters they need guidance with. It is Ben's mission for him and his team to become role models across the nation. The health, fitness and wellbeing industries are full of public figures for adults to aspire, however very little for children, this overshadows the importance of putting the younger generations needs first. Ben and his team are determined to change this and put children's health, fitness and wellbeing on a bigger platform nationally.
