Beginnings by Morna D Hooker
Shows how important the beginnings of the four Gospels are. If rightly read they help the reader to make sense of what follows, but because they come from such a different culture it is easy to miss some of the indications they give.
Morna D. Hooker is Lady Margaret's Professor Emerita in the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Robinson College. Her books include From Adam to Christ: Essays on St. Paul, A Commentary on the Gospel according to St. Mark, Not Ashamed of the Gospel, The Signs of a Prophet, and Paul: A Short Introduction. She is editor of Black's New Testament Commentaries and has been joint editor of the Journal of Theological Studies since 1985.
