John Watson (1878-1958) was an American psychologist who formalized and popularized behaviorism in the early 1900s, making it the dominant school of psychology in the US during the 1920s and 1930s. Watson was a lecturer at the New School for Social Research and a professor of psychology at Johns Hopkins University.
