Behind Enemy Lines by Chuck Thompson
Get tough on crime Declare war on drugs Three strikes and you're out They're great slogans on the campaign trail, but they miss the heart of the matter leaving crime to keep on thriving in our nation's prisons. Is it possible that we soak up the tough on crime talk as a church because we've lost our way? We speak passionately about hating sin and loving the sinner, but our hatred of crime can cause us to falter and slip...into hating the criminal at times. Is it possible that between the lines of our love for the Lord, there lies a hidden unbelief in the transforming power of Jesus to radically change lives in prison settings? A collection of simple narratives teeming with godly passion, vision, and inspiration, Behind Enemy Lines illustrates the gospel's power to revolutionize lives and break through the darkness of the devil's playground with the light of God's love. These experiences are described by the prison residents themselves and taken from a newsletter written by and for them. And while discipleship and Christian service are major pillars of the book, the hunger to live lives that honor Jesus among incarcerated believers makes an even deeper impact on the reader. Behind Enemy Lines leaves no doubt that God's Spirit cannot be locked out of hungry hearts| SKU | Unavailable |
