Charles Foster went to Hollywood on leave during WWII and formed lifelong ties with many of the Canadians he now writes about. Later in his career, he wrote comedy for a variety of TV shows and for comedians such as Bob Hope and Jack Benny. His debut novel, Stardust and Shadows, was a critical success.
