Belizaire the Cajun by Glen Pitre

Based on the 1987 motion picture, this historical novel recounts the exploits of Belizaire Breaux, a Cajun herbalist and traiteur (faith healer).

Glen Pitre has worked in the media industry in a variety of capacities, including television, cinema, and writing. He has worked as a shrimp fisherman, house painter, ship's cook, roadside garlic vendor, assistant zookeeper, and oil-field laborer, among other jobs. His professional experiences and interactions with people from all walks of life make him a well-rounded and valuable knowledge source. He is the author of The Crawfish Book and the coauthor of Cajun Country (with Barry Jean Ancelet and Jay Edwards), both from University Press of Mississippi.
