Smith also has 30 years of experience in factory automation, machine tools, CAD/CAM software, and robots, as well as hands-on experience building many jewelry classrooms, his own home, and running a family horse farm. He is a member of the Metal Arts Society of Southern California and the Culver City Rock & Mineral Club.
