Beneath a Travelling Star by Timothy Dudley-Smith

Beneath a Travelling Star is a sparkling collection of new carols and hymns for the seasons of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany by Timothy Dudley-Smith, one of today’s leading hymn writers. Characteristically elegant, concise and rich in theology, they originate in the Dudley-Smiths’ own Christmas celebrations; each was written for the annual family Christmas card, a tradition begun over forty years ago and continued still. The familiarity of much of the music also makes these hymns ideal for congregational singing in carol services and other festive occasions. Beneath a Travelling Star will provide fresh inspiration for worship and celebration at this joyful time of year.
Timothy Dudley-Smith, the author of over 300 hymns, was awarded an OBE and FRSCM for his services to hymnody. Previously the Bishop of Thetford, he now lives near Salisbury. William Llewellyn MBE studied at the Royal Academy of Music and was formerly Director of Music and later Second Master at Charterhouse. In retirement, he served as Chairman of the Devon Area of the Royal School of Church Music for twelve years.
