The Berenstain Bear Scouts and the White-Water Mystery by Stan Berenstain Berenstain
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The men's basketball team at Indiana University has been credited with fueling the term Hoosier hysteria as a result of its consistently good squads each season. In all, IU has won five NCA national championships and 20 Big Ten championships. Led to three championships by outspoken coach Bob Knight, IU basketball is a phenomenon that stretches beyond the court. This book looks at the history of Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, the five championship seasons and the memorable coaches and players, including Kelvin Sampson, Everett Dean, Steve Alford and more. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge.
Stan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia. They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art. They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art. During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory. When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines. After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy. Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt . It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the Berenstain Bears. Over 50 children's books later, Stan and Jan still plan all of their books together -- both write the stories, and both write the pictures. They live outside of Philadelphia in the country.
